Why can my guitar tuner correctly name major chords? - Music ... Posted: 15 Dec 2015 12:56 PM PST Depending on how your tuner detects frequency, it's possible that this is because of the resultant tone phenomenon. If we play two sinewaves, one at 100 Hz (about G2), and another a musical fifth above at 150Hz, and then add the waveforms together, the summed result is a waveform whose actual frequency is the difference between those frequencies - ie. 50 Hz (about G1). If we play a note at 100 Hz and another note 25Hz above, which is a Major third above, the resultant tone is at 25Hz - around G0. This will even work with some inversions. If we play 150Hz and a G an octave higher - a (slightly flat) G3 at 200 Hz, the resultant tone is still 50Hz and still a G. I don't think this would explain it if your tuner can ALWAYS pick out the right chord - especially as real notes aren't sinewaves, so it won't work as simply as I outlined - but it may explain why some voicings 'work'. |

Joy of Conventions Piano Notes, Guitar Chords or Sheet Music ... Posted: 09 Dec 2015 04:59 AM PST This December 2015, we really are surprised with the beautiful music presented at the near end of the JW Broadcasting program. Brother Mark Noumair introduced the song Joy of Conventions. The music video shows different scenes and footage of the past 2014 International Convention which is held at different locations worldwide. Just like what we did for the past JW Broadcasting songs, we are compiling videos of this song created by our talented brothers and sisters from all around the world. Upon hearing this song, most of us will be needing the piano notes, guitar chords or any other sheet music for this. We want to play it using the instrument we have at home. But wait, yes, let's wait until someone upload it on the world wide web. We will compile them here! Stay tuned. |
